The State of Michigan prohibits charging more than $10 per individual transaction/stamp or notarial act. Mobile notary and remote online services require additional fees that are agreed upon before the signing occurs. Travel fees are based on the client's location and will not be less than $39. A booking fee will be charged when the appointment is scheduled. Fees for loan signings also vary and will be discussed at the time of inquiry or with the title company or lender. Additional fees may be assessed for after hours and weekend appointments, no-show or last-minute cancellations. Please see our pricing page or contact us for more information.
Please notify us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. If you do not cancel or show up for your appointment, we will charge a $39 service fee. A notary can decline to complete a notarization if the documents appear suspicious, the signer is confused, incoherent, or does not present valid identification. For mobile services, the travel fee is due even if the transaction is unable to be completed.
No. A notary public is not an attorney. According to the State of Michigan, "A notary public is an officer commissioned by the Michigan Secretary of State to serve as an unbiased and impartial witness on business, public and other documents. The most common function of the notary is to prevent fraud by attesting to the identity of a person signing a document. A notarization on a document certifies that the person whose signature is entered on the document personally appeared before the notary, established his or her identity, and personally signed the document in the presence of the notary."
